Squam

Positioned between the villages of Wauwinet, Polpis, and Quidnet, Squam offers stunning ocean views. The richness and diversity of Nantucket’s natural landscape characterize Squam, a treasured and protected area that faces the Atlantic and is bordered by over 700 acres of conservation land. This area includes Squam Farm - featuring secluded and picturesque meadows and fields. Squam Swamp, the Farm's adjoining property, is made up of hardwood forests, freshwater bogs, shrub swamps, and meadows. The 1.75-mile trail is clearly marked and filled with adventure. Especially beautiful in the fall when the hardwood forests burst into red and orange hues, but it's a wonderful spot to enjoy with kids any time of the year. Close to Great Point and Coatue access, these locations are must-visit Nantucket spots for exploration. Jump in the car, ensure you have a Great Point Beach Sticker or day pass, lower your tire pressure, and drive along the beach to discover miles of protected land as you make your way to Great Point Light, with water views all around. It is also near Sconset village, where you can find a market, a fantastic sandwich shop, and upscale dining options.
